About Our Program

​

The Youth & Family Food Security Program is a community outreach initiative of Terica Cares Incorporated dedicated to reducing food insecurity and supporting children, youth, and families facing economic hardship.

We recognize that access to nutritious food is essential to good health, academic success, emotional well-being, and overall family stability.

Through community food distributions, donated groceries, strategic partnerships, and compassionate outreach, we work to help underserved households access essential food resources.

Our goal is to create healthier, stronger communities by addressing immediate food needs while connecting families with additional resources and support.

To reduce food insecurity among underserved children and families by increasing access to nutritious food, essential household resources, and community-based support services.

Our program prioritizes:

• Low-income and underserved families.

• Children and youth experiencing food insecurity.

• Single-parent households.

• Families experiencing financial hardship or unexpected emergencies.

• Individuals and households facing barriers to reliable food access.

Our outreach primarily serves communities throughout Metro Atlanta, including Gwinnett County and surrounding areas.

How We Support Families

Community Food Distributions

Terica Cares organizes twice-monthly community food distributions to help individuals and families access groceries, pantry staples, and other available food resources.

Youth & Family Nutrition Support

We work to improve access to essential food resources for children and families, recognizing the importance of proper nutrition for healthy development and overall well-being.

Emergency Food Assistance

As resources permit, we seek to connect households experiencing unexpected hardship with available food assistance and community support.

Essential Needs & Community Resources

In addition to food distributions, our community outreach initiatives connect families with donated school supplies, backpacks, personal care items, and other essential resources when available.

Community Partnerships

We collaborate with businesses, volunteers, and community organizations to increase access to donated food, supplies, and other resources that support our outreach efforts.

Our Community Food Security Goals

Through this program, Terica Cares aims to:

• Reach approximately 200 family households each month through food security outreach.

• Conduct two community food distributions monthly.

• Increase access to donated groceries and food resources.

• Strengthen relationships with food donors, businesses, and community organizations.

• Connect families with additional resources that support long-term stability.

These figures represent program goals and should not be interpreted as verified historical results.

 

Measuring Our Impact

We evaluate our program through:

• Number of food distribution events conducted.

• Number of households served.

• Quantity and type of food resources distributed.

• Volunteer engagement.

• In-kind food and supply contributions.

• Participant feedback and identified community needs.

These measures help us improve our outreach activities and demonstrate accountability to our community supporters.
