Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 yet has: no cure, ineffective treatment methods, is under-researched, and is consistently misdiagnosed, taking on average 7 - 11 years to properly diagnose. To date, Endometriosis has been found in the thoracic cavity and tract, abdominal wall and organs, urinary tract, bowels, pelvic walls, and reproductive organs. This includes muscular, vascular, and lymphatic systems throughout the body. Treatments like excision surgery, and continued endometriosis related costs can be financially burdensome due to lack of insurance coverage and out of pocket costs.
